ABOUT AR. VIJAY KARAN SINGH

I am Ar. Vijay Karan Singh, the founder and principal architect of Design One Studio, based in Chandigarh. As a visionary architect, I am passionate about creating spaces that harmoniously blend innovation with tradition. My design philosophy, shaped under the mentorship of Shri B.V. Doshi, a Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and Pritzker Prize recipient, integrates traditional Indian design principles with modernist approaches, creating a unique architectural language that bridges the past and the future.Central to my work is a commitment to sustainability, community-driven design, and the seamless integration of spaces with their environment. I hold a Bachelor of Architecture (BArch) from Chitkara University (20••••18) and a Master of Architecture (MArch) in Architecture and Urban Design from Chandigarh College of Architecture (20••••20), combining strong academic foundations with practical experience.My portfolio includes notable collaborations with national institutions such as the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India, and the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as well as international partnerships with the VEB.RF Russian State Development Corporation. In addition, I serve as a visiting faculty member at Chandigarh College of Architecture (CCA), where I teach Modernism and Urban Design, encouraging future architects to think critically and creatively about the cultural contexts shaping architecture.
