Electrification of steam cracking (Decarbonization):o Coordinated project execution across multiple cross-functional teams and successfully commissioned a $1.2M pilot test bed project.o Developed requisitions (RFQ) and technical specifications for key technological components.o Participated in mechanical design reviews, P & ID reviews, HAZOP, and management of change (MOC). o Developed thermal models in ANSYS and Excel to quantify heat flow and balance in the electric steam cracker test bed system as part of the design and development. These models generated a temperature profile, providing critical operational data estimates and aiding in qualification of a heat sink design that overcame a key safety bottleneck to the design of the testbed.o Contributed to identifying best design practices for the electrical enclosures and key operational parameters for the power control unit in the electric steam cracker test bed, enhancing operational safety.• CATOFIN Propane dehydrogenation (Petrochemicals):o Developed combustion and fluid dynamics models in ANSYS to optimize mechanical design and operation of reactor and mixer for CATOFIN units. These models serve as an incremental improvement to the technology.• Plastic Pyrolysis (Sustainability and circular economy):o Developed a thermal model in ANSYS to generate the temperature profile and energy requirements for an electric plastic pyrolysis reactor. The model helped to establish an optimal and safe operating window for the reactor and power control unit, which could potentially lead to cost savings, energy efficiency and improved safety.• Fluid catalytic cracking feed injector development (Oil and Gas refining technology):o Optimized injector design to achieve a 25% reduction in pressure drop and 10% decrease in particle size compared to the previous generation injector, resulting in cost savings, product yield increase and improved energy efficiency for the client.
