About Apurva Purohit
Apurva Purohit is a business leader, board director and entrepreneur with over three decades of experience in building, scaling and transforming organisations across India’s media and consumer landscape. She is currently the Co-Founder of Aazol, a purpose-led venture that brings authentic, regional Indian foods from farmer communities and rural women self-help groups to modern consumers. At Aazol, her focus is simple but powerful: build sustainable market linkages that create livelihoods at the grassroots while preserving India’s food heritage. Over the course of her corporate career, Apurva has built and led businesses across radio, print and digital. She played a pivotal role in scaling Radio City, setting up Lodestar as one of India’s leading media agencies, and shaping The Times of India Group’s entry into television. She has also led notable turnarounds, including Zee TV and Mid-Day, combining strategic clarity with operational execution. Today, she serves as an Independent Director on the boards of LTIMindtree, L&T Technology Services, Navin Fluorine International, Marico, The Leela Hotels and L&T Realty. Apurva is also a widely respected voice on leadership and gender diversity in the workplace. Through her writing, speaking and her bestselling books, Lady, You’re Not a Man and Lady, You’re the Boss! she advocates for more inclusive, equitable organisations and encourages women to navigate the workplace on their own terms. She has been named among India Today and Fortune India’s Most Powerful Women in Business multiple times, featured as a LinkedIn Top Voice, and honoured with the Distinguished Alumni Award from IIM Bangalore. She holds a degree in Physics and an MBA from IIM Bangalore, and in her early years, was a state-level hockey player representing Tamil Nadu.
