About Andrew Shook
Corporate aviation sits at the intersection of operational excellence and executive trust. Many flight departments are not run like businesses. And that creates real economic consequences.I\'ve spent 25 years on both sides of that equation, first as an institutional finance executive, and now as a commercial pilot and aviation advisor. As Senior Advisor at Gray Stone Advisors, I help flight departments and their stakeholders do something deceptively difficult: speak the same language.Finance teams focus on KPIs, utilization, and cost discipline. Flight operations focus on safety, reliability, and mission capability. Both are right. Most organizations struggle to connect them. I bridge the gap between the cockpit to the C-suite.My background is in institutional capital markets, including senior roles at Banc of America Securities and HSBC Bank USA, and co-founding Resource Capital Corporation (NYSE: RSO). That experience shaped how I think about capital allocation, performance measurement, and accountability at the executive and board level.I earned my commercial pilot certificate (land and sea plane, instrument rating) and have logged more than 1,100 flight hours. I am a mission pilot for Angel Flight and Veterans Airlift Command. That experience, along with aircraft ownership, gives me an operator\'s perspective on both the cockpit and the boardroom. I genuinely understand the financial scrutiny applied to corporate aviation. At Gray Stone, my work sits at the intersection of sound finance and solid airmanship. I focus on:→ Flight department performance analytics (FlightDeck™) → Aircraft acquisition, disposition, and fleet strategy → Accountable Executive advisory and organizational alignment → C-suite and board-level aviation reporting and benchmarkingIf you are involved in corporate aviation as an operator or executive, and are focused on improving performance, transparency, or capital efficiency, I welcome a conversation.
