ABOUT APRIL TOLOSA

I have now moved into the world of Cyber Security where I’ll be documenting how we monitor suspicious activities and detect ATT & CK techniques by analyzing data sources from in and out of the bank. I’m in cyber threat detection analytics! How cool is that?I had a crash course in Business Analytics before landing this job. Prior to that, I was with JPMorgan Chase, enjoying my hybrid career (publishing, IT, banking) that allowed me to do what I do best—creating order in chaos, defining & driving my own project, and leveraging resources to get things done. I translated business needs and coordinated with different stakeholders to make sure we send the right message to our customers. I led & executed test strategy, monitored progress & risk, resolved issues, and all that jazz. Before JPMorgan, I worked at Wells Fargo, helping technical experts put into words their complex knowledge on application know-hows. Sometimes I add doodles, treasure maps, and other visual aids for fun (I like to draw).I honed my leadership, training, and documentation skills during my nine years at Thomson Reuters working in the legal editorial department. From enhancing legal documents, I started training our new hires both locally and abroad, all the while leading and improving current processes of my team. I was also active in the diversity, inclusion, and sustainability side of the company, volunteering & organizing campaigns and events. I even started and co-led a network for early career professionals.Outside my 8-hour job, I tap into my creative and entrepreneurial side by managing my art business: have an MBA and a bachelor\'s degree in Business Economics majoring in Legal Management, both from De La Salle University, and a Business Analytics post-graduate certificate from Seneca Collage.I am creative, detail-oriented, and I\'d like to think I\'m responsible. I am also curious, and I am not one to follow blindly. I ask a lot of questions and am very probing on things. I have a knack for putting things in order and finding ways to help others.I believe collaboration helps for a better output and innovation is essential in today\'s rapidly growing economy. I like hiking and would very much love to save the environment. I also believe in educating everyone—not just the youth—if we want to have a future for humanity. Basically, I just want to be a force for good and save the world.
