About Andrew Baxter
A passion for growing my capabilities, those of the people around me, and those of the organizations where I spend my time has led me to participate in starting and running two successful startup companies in complex industries. I have been fortunate enough to learn from students interested in entrepreneurship while teaching as an adjunct instructor at two universities with exciting missions and to volunteer in organizations that seek to enable the growth of individuals and economies worldwide.Zinch.com (web 2.0 education space) and Sustainable Energy Solutions (SES)(energy transition space) are two companies I engaged in as an early employee and founder. In both cases, I worked with terrific teams to go from pre-product to profitability and successful exits. With SES, I continued after its acquisition by Chart Industries (NYSE: GTLS) to learn and grow from new peers and mentors while successfully developing the company and commercializing new technology. Along the way, I have had the opportunity to teach students starting on their entrepreneurial journeys at two different universities and have volunteered with organizations like KIPP Schools in Houston and the Small Enterprise Education and Development (SEED) program at Utah State University, fostering the growth of people and communities through entrepreneurship and economic development.I hold degrees in economics and business from BYU and an MBA with an emphasis in entrepreneurship and energy from Rice University. I am always reading and learning and love connecting with others doing the same.
