Passionate creative leader with 20+ years of extensive experiences in the home textiles & floor coverings industry with proven ability to inspire, oversee and motivate large design & product development teams that consistently deliver innovative, breakthrough creative work, exceed corporate goals & drive business growth. The exploration of world cultures and art has been a common thread in the life & career of Aparupa. Her childhood hobby of oil-painting & love for Indian ancient textiles brought her to NIFT, where she learned to weave, surface ornamentation techniques & hand print on textiles. Aparupa began her design career in the retail world with Weaves Studio, an organisation known for its’ excellence in Indian heritage textiles. She has dedicated herself working extensively with the artisans at the grassroots level before exploring the home textiles space. During her tenure with Sabare & Continental, Aparupa was exposed to creating soft furnishings range for the global market. Aparupa\'s passion for the cause of the rural artisans & hand-crafters was the driving factor behind her association with Obeetee, India’s oldest and finest hand-woven rugs & floor coverings company. Later, Aparupa led a team of 65 highly passionate designers at Jaipur Rugs, a company that supports rural artisans and sells exquisite line up of contemporary to transitional to modern electric handmade rugs over 60 countries worldwide. Aparupa loves to travel & her extensive inspirational trips to vibrant countries like Turkey, Morocco, Germany, Spain, Sweden, U.S.A, U.K, U.A.E, Saudi Arabia and other South East Asian nations proved to be equally pivotal in shaping her design aesthetics. She has slowly developed a distinctive signature which is exceedingly commercial reflecting global style. Her creations are a result of a mind constantly on the move - through time, space and ideas.
