About Apar Pataer
Pathologist, Molecular Pathologist, AI Pathology, Biomarker discover for clinical trial. AI prediction of drug sensitivity, Lung Cancer Translational Researcher and Director of PDX Core: Developed major pathologic response (MPR) criteria (See Nature Medicine, JTO etc Manuscripts). Developing cancer drug by targeting cancer misfolded protein pathway (Pataer et al Oncogene 2020).MPR Evaluation and Cancer Biomarker Discovery with strong Pathological, Clinical and Basic Science background.Active Medical Science Liaison (MSL): established and maintained scientific interest with the physician and basic Scientist. Active involve in lung cancer clinical trials.Important Contributions and Projects.1) Developed major pathologic response (MPR) criteria and biomarker discover in lung cancer receiving neoadjuvant treatment: Clinical trials in lung cancer using overall survival as the primary endpoint requires a decade or longer to complete, are expensive, and limit innovation. A surrogate for survival, such as MPR following neoadjuvant therapy, has the potential to increase the efficiency of clinical trials and expedite treatment advances for patients.2) Develop small molecules that targeting misfolded protein pathway for cancer therapy: This is a new concept that will lead us to open new cancer research field. This innovative approach may allow us to develop selective therapeutic tool with higher efficacy for cancer therapy and none toxicity for normal cells.3) Director of PDX Core: Establish various lung cancer models including PDXs and Organoids.Specialties: Pathology Evaluation, Cancer Biomarker Discovery, Clinical trial, Cancer Misfolded Protein Analysis, Various animal models studies.Fluently speak English, Japanese, Chinese, and Uyghur.
