About Alex P.
https://github.com/alex-papaioannouLooking for my next challenge! Interested in Python/C++.I am generally interested in developing highly efficient (fast, reliable, state-of-the-art) software systems that implement stochastic and financial models. Currently working at Levy models, stream based data pipelines and Python bindings for Rust. At Goldman Sachs I developed automated data pipelines and production libraries, leveraging software engineering and data science principles, in order to accomplish risk mitigation, make trading systems more efficient, and reduce the need of manual human intervention during the trade life cycle. I hold a M.S. Operations Research from Columbia University (2019) and a B.S. in Applied & Pure Math from Indiana University. If you need any further information, please feel free to contact me.Email address: a••••••••@columbia.educore characteristics-meticulous and detail/exception oriented-professional experience in 2 fast paced IBs+fintech startup-hands-on experience in finance (both front office and middle office functions), project management, data science, DevOps, systems, machine learning, time series analysis, PROD automation using Python, Gitlab, AWS, Kafka, Spark, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL-bachelors and masters degrees in math and engineering and 6+ years of research in engineering and financial mathematics-professionally mature, adaptable and able to change priorities quickly and work on multiple projects concurrently when roadblocks/dependencies come up

ETF Strats desk]• Building a Python API micro service to deliver ETF trade data across different post-trade ETF functions that aim to reduce exposure, mitigate operational risk, and highlight data inconsistencies between GS and external clients’ recognized positions.• Prototyped and developed end-to-end a live firewall-protected Python app that parses unstructured data and distributes the transformed data insights via a Java API micro service across Equity desks in order to speed up post-trade fails resolution.• Building production libraries and pipelines for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CICD) using Python, Gitlab, AWS, Kubernetes, Docker, Spark, Kafka, Airflow.• Enriching trading systems with external market features to reduce trade breaks, fails, and facilitate faster settlement and reconciliation of EQ and FI financial instruments.• Built a self-served Gitlab CI/CD pipeline that automates the delivery of QA and PROD db tables for GMD after running a series of unit tests in the requested SQL db changes. • Owned a weekly newsletter that drives the strategy of MDs and the Equities desk by providing them with market analytics trends and GS trades insights around the execution of ETF trades.
