About Apama Ameri
I am a Psychology major with a strong interest in child development, emotional well-being, and pathways to accessible mental health care. My academic and professional experiences reflect a commitment to both research and community-centered support, with the long-term goal of becoming a Clinical Psychologist specializing in Youth and Adolescent Development. As a Research Assistant in the Childhood Cognition Lab at UC Riverside, I support ongoing developmental research exploring how children think, learn, and grow in the context of their religious backgrounds. I also serve as a Youth Mental Health Academy Mentor for the Child Mind Institute, where I guide high school students through a structured research project while introducing them to careers in psychology and mental health.In addition, I volunteer as a Crisis Counselor for the Crisis Text Line, providing real-time support to individuals in high-stress or emotionally vulnerable situations. I also co-lead the Mentorship Program for Psi Chi the International Psychology Honors Society, where I coordinate connections between university alumni and current students to foster a stronger academic and professional community.Outside of these roles, I write \"Undergrad Unfiltered\", a blog where I explore college and life experiences through a psychological lens to promote insight and self-awareness.I am always open to connecting with professionals in psychology, mental health, and child development to share insights and opportunities!
