ABOUT ABENA KONADU OSEI-AKOTO
I am an MSc Electronic and Electrical Engineering student at the University of Leeds, focused on FPGA-based digital signal processing and embedded systems.My MSc project implements and hardware-validates a real-time adaptive noise cancellation system on a DE1-SoC FPGA using LMS-based adaptive filtering. The work centres on fixed-point design and comparing filter performance in real time; taking a problem usually confined to simulation onto validated hardware.Aside this, I have designed FPGA and embedded systems including a multi-waveform signal visualiser using direct digital synthesis (DDS) and an embedded memory and reaction game built on ARM-based architecture with memory-mapped I/O. These projects have given me practical skills in Verilog, embedded C, MATLAB, and system-level design, with hands-on experience using FPGA toolchains such as Quartus and ModelSim.I also bring experience spanning automotive aftersales engineering and RF/telecoms, including an RF planning and optimization internship, alongside customer-facing roles where I built strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills in fast-paced environments.I am particularly interested in applying hardware-based solutions to real-world problems, and I am currently seeking graduate opportunities in hardware design, embedded systems, or systems engineering.
