Evolution E-Cycling was started to fill a void created by a missing piece of public infrastructure in Pennsylvania and its surrounding states. For more than 30 years, people have been using personal computers and electronic devices in their everyday lives. During this time, outdated, obsolete, and end of life electronic devices have been discarded in landfills or exported to developing nations where they are processed in a manner that is unsafe to workers and detrimental to the environment. Evolution E-Cycling will provide an environmentally sound and legal outlet for the huge volume of electronic scrap that is now piling up in warehouses and closets across the tri-state area.In addition to the environmental risks of the improper disposal of scrap electronics, the growth of the internet has introduced risks to the safety of private information. In the information age, individuals and businesses who store data electronically have become vulnerable to identity theft and corporate espionage.
