About Anya de Marie

What I really want is freedom, for all of us. So I’ve spent my career researching, teaching and leading highly innovative strategies for growth and social change. And I enjoy wins.Currently I consult for social impact with organizations in Europe, Latin America, and the U.S. to build greater capacity through financial advising, operational and development strategies.Previously I served as Chief Fiscal Sponsored Programs Officer for an intermediary industry leader. I managed a $25M budget and helped over 30 organizations grow through movement-building fiscal sponsorship. I\'ve led agency-wide systems change and overhauls within finance, operations and service provision. And I serve as a community-based leader and advisor to multiple communities. My professional experience spans project management, operations, fiscal sponsorship, advising, finance, external affairs, marketing, and communications—across nonprofits, startups, businesses, academia and government.I\'m also passionate about transformational education, having served more than seven years as faculty in a pioneering women-centered graduate program and co-developing cutting-edge online/hybrid curriculum. My teaching ranges from graduate seminars in women’s psychology to technical trainings for first responders on the issues of sex trafficking of youth.I hold Harvard Business School Online’s CORe certification in Finance, Business, and Accounting and have explored the application of agile methods via Professional Scrum Master training towards operational strategy and change management. My work is grounded in intersectional gender justice, human rights, economic and environmental justice movements since the 1990s. I am also a producer, dancer, and writer. I serve as the Artistic Director of the Bay Area Flamenco Festival / Festival Flamenco Gitano. And linked below you\'ll find my “Women Runnin It” series highlighting women cultural leaders in Oakland as well as a panel in which I was a speaker on using fiscal sponsorship in service of equity.
