About Adam Wright

Physicist with experience in lasers and optics who is interested in solving hard problems and working on new technology. I’ve built, characterized, and optimized dye lasers, fiber lasers, and CO2 lasers. I’ve set up novel experiments to measure magneto-optical transitions in atomic vapors. I’ve designed beams paths for complex, high power, UV laser scanning systems. I’ve used computers to model and simulate the acousto-optic interaction in crystals, calculate optimal gain conditions for lasers, and analyze the data I’ve collected from all of these projects. All of this has relied on using and understanding instruments such as beam profiling cameras, M^2 boxes, shear interferometers, spectrometers, and industrial grade computer clusters. I have used Zemax\'s OpticStudio to model many of my tests and experiments, such as laser beam paths, optical aberrations, and free-space fiber optic coupling systems. I extensively use python to accomplish a wide variety of tasks, from data analysis to numerical simulation to the control and automation of laboratory equipment.
