About Anwar Ahmad

I am a tenured professor with a diversified education in natural sciences and information systems, and over 30 years of experience in teaching, research, and consulting at various institutions of higher learning. Formal education includes an MBA and MS in computer information systems and a BS, MS, and Ph.D. in biological/animal sciences. I have taught numerous undergraduate and graduate courses in biostatistics, natural sciences, risk analysis, and information sciences. In addition to teaching students and adult learners in traditional settings, I developed and taught several online courses. One of these courses is quantitative risk assessment, developed under extramural funding and offered to African and US mid-career professionals in international agriculture, trade, and food safety. I have published over 125 full-length research papers and abstracts in peer-reviewed scientific journals. My research interests include disease modeling, health disparities, Biostatistics Education and Consulting, Microbial Risk Assessment, and the applications of AI modeling approaches in biological data analysis, with several funded projects.
