As part of the ISA Summer School 2025, I completed two astrophysics research projects using real astronomical data and advanced scientific tools. These projects deepened my understanding of galaxy dynamics, dark matter, and active galactic nuclei (AGN).•Project 1: Estimating the Dynamical and Luminous Mass of a Galaxy Cluster-Analyzed SDSS spectroscopic data to identify cluster member galaxies using redshift filtering-Computed dynamical mass via the Virial Theorem and luminous mass using g–r color-based M/L ratios (Bell et al. 2003)-Revealed a ~14× discrepancy between luminous and total mass, indicating strong dark matter presence.•Project 2: Spectral Cube Analysis of JWST MIRI Data (NGC 7469)-Processed full JWST MIRI spectral cubes of the Seyfert-1 galaxy NGC 7469 using all 4 instrument channels and their respective short, medium, and long subbands-Created central and ring region masks using DS9 and applied them across cubes for spatially resolved spectral extraction-Analyzed rest-frame MIR spectra to study emission differences between the AGN core and surrounding star-forming ring.
