I have joined BP as a Mechanical Engineer in TSI to support one of BP’s largest refinery i.e, Whiting Refinery, Indianapolis for turnaround (TAR) and maintenance-related engineering activities. My role involves providing mechanical engineering support for piping replacement and repair scopes, advising on pipe class selection for new and replacement jobs, and preparing technical datasheets for piping components. I support material requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluation (TBEs), and review vendor drawings to ensure compliance with refinery standards. My responsibilities also include performing flange torque calculations, preparing line lists and pressure test packs, and supporting pressure testing and mechanical completion activities. Additionally, I contribute to equipment rerating, repair evaluations, and Fitness-for-Service (FFS) assessments for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, and other static equipment to ensure safe and reliable refinery operations.
