About Anup Kulkarni

Anup is a Fellow member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) & is also enrolled with the Bar Counsel of India. He is a certified Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) professional, & a certified POSH professional as recognized by the ICSI. He is a Partner with JSA & is one of the heads of Corporate Governance, Compliance & Secretarial practice. His practice focuses primarily on corporate compliance, regulatory, corporate governance & secretarial matters with particular emphasis on corporate laws and Foreign Exchange Regulations. He actively assists in setting up subsidiaries of foreign companies /Special Purpose Vehicles, as well as Branch and Liaison offices in India. As a part of the practice he also focuses on matters involving Anti-Corruption & White-collar investigations and appears before the SFIO and ED. He regularly appears before the NCLT, RBI, MCA on various compounding & adjudication matters involving private & public companies. He also appears before the DPIIT, FIFP, DoT, BIS, Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization in relation to various compliance, registrations and licensing matters. He regularly conducts workshops on CSR. Anup is also a Certified Corporate Director & Certified Corporate Governance professional as certified by the Institute of Directors & Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs. By virtue of this, he conducts regular workshops on Directors\' Liability and Indemnification. Being a faculty member of ICSI he is called on to speak at various training programs, masterclass, and conferences. Anup is a member of International Bar Association (IBA). For the period from 01 Jan 2023 to 31 Dec 2024 he has served as Technology Law Committee Liaison Officer of the ANLBS Committee of the IBA. He has co-authored the India section of the book on Directors\' Liability & Indemnification: A Global Guide, published by Global Law & Business-a UK publishing house. For the period from 2018 to 2021 Anup has contributed to the India section of the \'Doing Business Report\' published by the World Bank Group. Anup has been awarded by the Former President of India Shri. K.R.Narayanan, which is considered to be the highest award in The Bharat Scouts and Guides.Anup has been recognized as Top 50 Lawyers in India 2023 & Top 15 Lawyers in South India, by Asia Legal Business; has been recognized by Legal Era as a Raising Star Lawyer for the year 2023; has been recognized by Forbes India as Top 100 Lawyers; and by BW Legal as Best Corporate Governance & Compliance Lawyer.
