Working on Ciena’s XGS-PON access product line with a focus on OMCI Managed Entities, socket programming, L2/L3 networking (VLANs, IPv6 multicast), and ONU build validation. Responsible for implementing new features, resolving production issues, and ensuring stable customer-ready releases.Key Contributions: • Implemented OMCI Managed Entities in compliance with ITU-T G.988 standards and integrated them with the existing XGS-PON codebase, enhancing interoperability between OLTs and ONUs. • Developed socket-based communication modules enabling reliable inter-process and network communication within the ONU/OLT software stack. • Designed and validated L2 traffic flows and IPv6 multicast handling, ensuring carrier-grade performance for IPTV and broadband services. • Configured and optimized VLANs and L3 routing on switches, enabling efficient service separation, scalability, and robust customer traffic management. • Resolved numerous JIRAs by debugging legacy and production issues, improving system stability and reducing recurring failures across PON deployments.
