About Anuja N. Mehta
My intellectual property practice involves domestic and foreign patent portfolio development, management, and enforcement in various areas of life sciences including molecular and cellular biology, therapeutics, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, and microbial biology. I advise clients regarding patentability, validity, infringement, and freedom-to-operate issues and perform due diligence evaluations of patent portfolios in connection with venture capital and private equity financings, collaborations, and/or partnering deals.My practice also includes various post-grant proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), including inter partes reviews (IPRs).Prior to joining Jones Day in 2016, I obtained my Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology in the lab of Prof. James E. Haber at Brandeis University. I have authored several peer-reviewed publications and have served in several leadership roles throughout my academic studies.
