Gaining hands-on experience in private equity fund accounting, assisting in the financial reporting and analysis of investment portfolios and working in JPM Chase & Co. to support the accounting and operational functions of private equity funds.Key Responsibilities :• Financial Reporting : Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements for private equity funds, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, etc.).• NAV Calculations : Support the calculation of Net Asset Value (NAV) for multiple private equity funds, verifying transactions, fund performance, and investment valuations.• Cash & Fund Management : Monitor and reconcile cash movements, capital calls, distributions, and management fees, ensuring accurate and timely accounting records.• Audit Support : Coordinate with external auditors to ensure smooth audit processes, providing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.• Financial Modelling & Analysis : Assist in financial modelling and analysis to evaluate investment performance, return calculations, and fund-level financial metrics.• Compliance & Documentation : Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal compliance standards, assisting with preparation for fund regulatory filings and investor reporting.Skills & Competencies :~ In-depth knowledge of private equity structures, fund accounting, and financial reporting.~ Basic understanding of accounting principles (IFRS, US GAAP).~ Proficient in financial software (e.g, Investran) and advanced Excel functions (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP PivotTables).~ Strong analytical and attention-to-detail skills.~ Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under tight deadlines.~ Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across different teams and departments.~ This role has provided me with invaluable exposure to the private equity industry, building my expertise in fund accounting and financial analysis.
