ABOUT ANTHONY S.
I started my career in a HR & Payroll department for a multi sited, UK wide manufacturing business. Paying approximately 2200 employees over multiple pay frequencies, I progressed my career significantly during my 8 years there, both academically and practically.In 2010, I moved into the temporary recruitment market, where I was initially recruited as Payroll Manager at an Umbrella company to implement a set of compliant and efficient Payroll processes and manage a small team. After 18 months of significant growth and successful completion of a Master Degree in Payroll and Business Management, I went on to become their Head of Operations.I was a key player in achieving the Investors in People Bronze award, amongst other significant achievements. During my 3+ and years there, the company went from engaging and paying 125 temporary workers, to nearly at the point I moved on. This obviously bought with it significant increases in headcount, turnover and profit.I joined Sapphire as a start up as their Payroll Manager. Initially established as an accountancy practice specialising in offering support and payment solutions to temporary workers and small businesses, I was recruited as their second employee to head up and grow their Umbrella/contractor payroll. In 2017, along with two other senior managers, we completed a Management Buyout with an ambitious plan to accelerate the growth and diversify the company with a vision to become the leading provider of professional services to the UK’s flexible workforce. In the following 4 years we grew from 650 contractors and clients to nearly with our headcount trebling, turnover increasing to over £200m, 3 office moves and becoming a significantly profitable business. In late 2021, Sapphire became an Employee Owned company, with the company being valued at twenty times the value we purchased it for 4 years earlier. Our mission is simple: To build a flexible working world for our people. I am very passionate about providing an excellent, progressive and unrivalled service to all customers and staff who I come into contact with. By constantly reviewing and updating business processes, I\'m keen to ensure that everyone\'s experience is constantly improving in line with, and often ahead of, the challenges the UK temporary workforce often face. I firmly believe that by applying my philosophy of planning, implementing, executing, evaluating and constantly reviewing to any situation, inevitable success will ensue.
