WORK HISTORY
Co-founder & Managing Partner @The Communication Practice
Cambridge, GB
My background spans software development, UX design, genomics, and linguistics — disciplines that taught me how systems break down under pressure. But it was my work as a corporate role-play actor from 2016 that brought everything into focus.Working with NHS clinicians, lawyers at Cambridge Judge Business School, and technical leaders at ARM, I watched capable professionals struggle — not because they lacked frameworks or intelligence, but because they\'d never practiced navigating emotional intensity in a safe environment. That insight became the foundation for The Communication Practice. We don\'t deliver training — our experiential learning creates conditions for behavioural change that sticks, through three tools: Lived Experience Recordings — Employees share real challenges anonymously, voiced by professional actors, creating recognition and empathy across differences. Forum Theatre — Interactive scenarios where participants test solutions and explore new behaviours in psychologically safe environments, building shared ownership of cultural change. Communication Coaching — Structured sessions with expert actor-coaches that build lasting capability. Organisations where silence and mishandled conversations carry real cost: insurance, financial services, healthcare, and aviation. Clients include Lloyd\'s, BMS, British Airways, and the NHS. Fluent in French and Spanish, I work directly with global clients, because cultural nuance is everything when building inclusive cultures. Leaders who once froze or made things worse now initiate difficult conversations with skill and confidence. Issues get addressed in week one, not month twelve. If you\'re looking to reduce the hidden cost of avoided or mishandled conversations, I\'d welcome a conversation. a••••••••@thecommunicationpractice.com calendly.com/antony-tcp thecommunicationpractice.com

ABOUT ANTONY QUINN
I\'m a software engineer turned actor and co-founder of The Communication Practice. I\'ve spent years understanding a problem that costs organisations millions: leaders who either freeze before a difficult conversation ever starts, or push through and make things significantly worse. I’ve learnt that you can\'t intellectually override a threat response. When leaders avoid or mishandle difficult conversations, it\'s not a knowledge problem — it\'s a nervous system problem. We built The Communication Practice to give leaders the emotional muscle memory they need for high-stakes conversations. We’ve already helped teams at Lloyd’s, BMS, British Airways, and the NHS.\' Your leaders are mishandling difficult conversations — or avoiding them altogether. Not because they don\'t care, but because they\'re terrified of the emotional risk. They know what they should say, but when their heart rate spikes and the moment arrives, that intellectual knowledge evaporates. Their nervous system takes over and they freeze, fight, or flee. Some avoid the conversation entirely. Others have it — but clumsily, reactively, or without the skill to land it well — leaving people feeling attacked, dismissed, or confused.You\'ve invested in communication skills training, but theory can\'t override a threat response. You\'re paying the \"silence tax\" — and mishandled conversations carry their own hidden cost. Our drama-based methodology is distinctive: we don\'t just teach communication skills intellectually — we help people embody them through practice with professional actors who create unmatched emotional realism.We\'re best known for helping organisations with some of the most sensitive conversations: those around equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI). Our proven methodology helps clients move beyond theory to build inclusive cultures where conversations around identity, bias, and equity build genuine belonging. Bespoke training and workshops Communication coaching\"I\'ve seen our conversations really progress following the roll out of our Speaking Up and Inclusive Leadership programme, focusing on effective communication, allyship, and leading with empathy.\" — Ian Gormley, UK CEO, BMS GroupTo discuss how we can help your organisation, contact me via LinkedIn direct message or: a••••••••@thecommunicationpractice.com calendly.com/antony-tcp thecommunicationpractice.com: Adaptive Leadership | Inclusive Leadership | Psychological Safety
