ABOUT ANTONY C JOSEPH

As a postgraduate in Social Work and a current Gandhi Fellow (Batch 18, 2025–27) with Piramal Foundation, working under the Aspirational Bharat Collaborative in Bihar, I am committed to advancing grassroots development and social equity.During my Master of Social Work program, I specialized in Medical and Psychiatric Social Work, gaining hands-on experience across diverse sectors—engaging with children, women, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and marginalized communities. My fieldwork journey has enriched my understanding of holistic and community-centered approaches to social change.Key Fieldwork & Internship Experiences:School Social Work: Conducted training sessions, life skills workshops, and theatre-based learning for children with disabilities at Rotary Special School.Child Welfare: Led life skills sessions for residents of a children’s home and coordinated outreach programs for parents and community members.Medical Social Work: At Thejaswini Cooperative Hospital, facilitated awareness sessions, psychosocial assessments, and caregiver support.RUCHI NGO, Himachal Pradesh: Completed a rural internship involving classroom renovation and waste management awareness sessions in a government school.Psychiatric Social Work – Dr. Thunga’s Manaswini Psychiatric Hospital, Mangalore: Conducted awareness sessions on women’s mental health and assisted in individual counseling and psychosocial support.The Banyan NGO, Chennai: Completed a one-month internship offering counseling, group activities, and rehabilitation support for women with chronic mental illness and homelessness.Beyond the field, I am: A creative communicator: Skilled in designing posters, brochures, and visual content for awareness campaigns.
