ABOUT ANTONIO RIVA PALACIO LAVIN

I maintain a wholly international practice, encompassing public international law, international investment, international trade and international arbitration. Based primarily in Dubai, I specialize in the settlement of international disputes, and structuring international investments. I advise our clients in all types of public international law disputes, including an international arbitration practice which centres predominantly on international multilingual disputes, counselling clients under the rules of the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID), the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL), the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), as well as the rules of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC/BIAC), and the Mexican local arbitration rules of the CANACO and CAM. I also advise enterprises, individuals, and all manner of investors with interests in Mexico and Latin America on their cross-border transactions, including joint ventures with Latin-American parties, infrastructure and trade finance transactions as well as general commercial matters, assisting Middle Eastern, Chinese and other Asian companies enter the Mexican and Latin-American market, navigate its legal requirements, and enter into fruitful partnerships. Aside from our daily practice, I also volunteer in several academic programmes on international law.
