I am an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Salerno, DISPC, where I founded and lead the Cognition Interaction and Intelligent Technologies Laboratory (CIIT Lab, Previously (from April 2021 to September 2023) I was a tenure-track Senior Researcher/Assistant Professor (RTD-B) in Computer Science at the Department of Computer Science of the University of Turin (Italy) and a junior Researcher RTD-A in Computer Science (from March 2018 to March 2021), Adjunct Professor (September 2016 - February 2018) and Post-doc research fellow (May 2012 - February 2018) at the same Department. Since February 2014, I am also a Research Associate at the ICAR-CNR Institute in Palermo (Italy), Cognitive Robotics and Social Sensing Lab. From July 2016 to December 2017 I was a Research Associate at the MEPhI (National Research Nuclear University, Department of Cybernetics, Moscow, Russia). I have been Vice-President of the Italian Association for Cognitive Science (2017/2022). Before joining the Department of Computer Science at the University of Torino, I received a Ph.D.(dottorato di ricerca) by the University of Salerno with a thesis in Artificial Intelligence (in the area of Knowledge Representation and Automated Reasoning). In the past years I have been Visiting Researcher at the University of Haifa (Israel, Dept. of Information Systems), Carnegie Mellon University (USA, Dept. of Psychology and School of Computer Science) and Lund University (Sweden, Dept. of Cognitive Science). My main interests are at the intersection between Artificial Intelligence and Computational Cognitive Science. In particular, my research focus is on Knowledge Representation, Common Sense and Narrative Reasoning, Computational Models of Mind and Cognitive Architectures, Persuasive Technologies. On these topics I have co-authored more than 100 scientific publications in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences and I have been leading editor of 6 books on the topic of \"Artificial Intelligence and Cognition\". I am, since 2018, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of JETAI (Journal of Experimental and Theoretical Artificial Intlelligence, Taylor & Francis, UK) and member of the Editorial Board of the Cognitive Systems Research. I regularly serve as PC member of top level AI and CogSci conferences. In 2020 I have been appointed \"ACM Distinguished Speaker\" by the Association for Computing Machinery. More info @:
