ABOUT ANTONIO LUIGI IBBA

Graduated at University of Cagliari, Sardinia, Italy in Mechanical Engineering, he also holds I.I.W. Diplomas of International Welding Engineer (IWE/EWE) and Welding Inspector (IWI-C), both issued by the Italian Institute of Welding (IIS). He is currently an ISO9712 certified NDT Level 3, qualified in Radiography, UT, MPI, LPI, and Visual inspection. He has now accumulated 26+ yrs of large set of experience in the Energy-Oil and Gas industries, from petrochemical/ process piping components, detailed engineering, passing through procurement, fabrication, inspection & testing of pressure components (Pressure Vessels & Turbomachinery dynamic and hot-parts). In 2014 he Patented a digital radiography application with other GE colleagues. In 2015, he was awarded for the very first GT combustion component made in AM at Florence Turbomachinery COE. Moved to Oilfield Well production and services equipment in 2018, now leads NDE/NDT activities at the Subsea Centre of Excellence in Montrose and in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK. Currently, he also leads the development/validation of new/innovative nondestructive processes/ innovative NDT methods-techniques (including digital /advanced techniques), related to welding fabrication of structural parts, pressure components & piping systems, raw forging, hot-rolled components of low- and high-alloy steels, Ni-based superalloys, laser bed powder fusion, LBPF, metal additive manufacturing and additive manufacturing of plastic filaments. He is married to Barbara, and they have two boysSpecialties: Engineering Manufacturing Technologies, Nondestructive Examinations, Industrial Turbomachinery, Oilfield Equipment - Subsea, Pressure Vessel, Metal and Non-Metal Row Materials for the Energy - Oil & Gas Industry.
