I am a mining engineer and minerals economist with more than 38 years of experience in project development, mine planning, consulting, research, lecturing and training. I have worked for several engineering and consulting firms including Wood, SRK Consulting, Met-Chem Canada, Clifton Associates Mexico, Pincock Allen & Holt, and Wiley Consulting. I am currently working for AGP Mining Consultants as Principal Mine Engineer. My experience includes projects on precious metals, iron, lead, zinc, and industrial minerals. I have an extensive background in open-pit mine design, planning, production scheduling, equipment selection, and cost estimating. Studies conducted include property evaluations, feasibilities, mine planning optimizations, financial analyses, and due diligence. I hold a Ph.D. degree in Mining and Earth Systems Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado, a Masters degree in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, and a Bachelors degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Guanajuato in Mexico.
