As a Design Engineer on the New Product Introduction (NPI) team at Cretex Medical, I help bring Class I, II, and medical devices from concept to production by combining detailed mechanical design with cross-functional collaboration. I work closely with quality, manufacturing, and customers to deliver reliable, compliant, and manufacturable medical components and systems-Create and revise 3D CAD models and detailed drawings of medical devices, fixtures, and tooling in SolidWorks in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standards-Support design and documentation of injection-molded components and custom tooling for manufacturing and inspection processes-Perform fixture design for dimensional validation, process setup, and cleanroom assembly-Conduct design reviews, support root cause analysis, and lead the creation of documentation packages, including BOMs and engineering change orders (ECOs)-Assist in CT scanning integration to enable non-destructive dimensional analysis and inspection of internal features-Communicate directly with customers and internal stakeholders to clarify design expectations and ensure project alignment-Participate in validation activities including IQ/OQ/PQ, first article inspections, and FMEAs to support regulatory compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 standards-Collaborate with manufacturing and tooling engineers to ensure designs meet requirements for moldability, cost-effectiveness, and production readiness-Engage in cleanroom-based activities and hands-on process troubleshooting to support product builds and early-stage pilot runs-Contribute to continual improvement and operational excellence by applying lean manufacturing and DFM principles-Emergency Response Team Member – Trained in emergency protocols and first aid; assist in drills and real-time incident response to ensure employee safety-Safety Committee Member- Contribute to monthly safety audits, hazard assessments, and support continuous improvement in the workplace.
