About Antonio Bandala-Jacques
Physician-epidemiologist passionate about harnessing data to improve cancer outcomes. I’m currently pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where my research focuses on HPV-associated oropharyngeal cancers.With a background in clinical medicine (MD, ITESM) and public health (MPH, INSP; ScM, JHSPH), I specialize in applying advanced epidemiologic and machine learning methods to complex longitudinal datasets. My work spans cancer surveillance, risk prediction modeling, and pragmatic trial design. I’m especially interested in the intersection of infectious diseases and cancer, and how we can better inform screening and treatment strategies using data.I’ve authored peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, covering topics such as endometrial carcinoma, breast cancer disparities, and HPV persistence.
