ABOUT ANTONIA VAVANOU

Sustainability Professional with over ten years of experience across sustainability advisory, carbon markets, and the built environment. My work integrates whole-life carbon (WLC), circular economy (CE), and net zero strategy with the evolving landscape of greenhouse gas removals (GGRs) and the voluntary carbon market (VCM).I advise organisations across the full net zero journey — from shaping decarbonisation pathways and target-setting to addressing residual emissions through high-integrity carbon removal strategies, including carbon credit portfolio design, procurement, and internal carbon pricing mechanisms.Alongside this, I bring extensive experience in sustainability strategy for the built environment, including embodied and whole life carbon, circular economy, and KPIs development. I work closely with clients to translate sustainability ambitions into clear, practical briefs that can be implemented across different project stages and sectors.I hold an MSc in Environmental Design and Engineering from UCL and an MArch in Architectural Engineering from NTUA, and I am a registered Architect in both the UK (ARB) and Greece (TCG). Alongside my project work, I contribute to industry practice through involvement in sustainability standards, participation in the UKGBC Net Zero Forum, and mentoring at UCL.
