ABOUT ANTONIA BARTHEL
Antonia Barthel is a Senior Project Manager Public Affairs and Geopolitics at Bayer AG. She previously worked at the Munich Security Conference (MSC) in multiple positions since October 2020 including coordinating the MSC\'s largest conference in Asia (Tokyo, May 2023) and leading the Strategic Projects Team. Prior to joining the MSC, she worked as an Analyst at Sofala Partners in London, a boutique consultancy advising the most influential companies and large foundations on investments in Sub-Sahara Africa. She gained first hand insights into peace and security challenges in the region at the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung\'s (FES) Peace and Security Centre of Competence Sub-Saharan Africa in Dakar, Senegal. Additionally, her role as Deputy Chairwoman of Das Hunger Projekt e.V. and her long engagement with the organization has fostered her knowledge on international development issues.She studied at King’s College London (UK) and Leiden University (The Netherlands) earning a BA in International Studies and a MSc in Security, Leadership and Society both with a focus on Sub-Sahara Africa. Additionally, she has completed certifications and courses on international migration and women\'s studies. She speaks English, German and French.
