About Anthony Trgovcich
Anthony has a variety of experience in civil engineering related fields, including materials, surface water, and structural engineering. He obtained his B.S. degree from Cal Poly, SLO, and his M.S. degree from UC San Diego. Anthony is currently an Associate Principal at John A. Martin & Associates in their Oakland office.Anthony\'s interest and proficiency in structural engineering has provided him opportunities to work on or manage a variety of structural projects, from small tenant improvement work to high-rise structures, and everything in between. Through his experiences in the industry, Anthony came to understand the inefficient and regressive nature of the AEC industry. Instead of abiding by \"industry standards\" and outdated methods, he has innovated and improved wherever possible. Many of these improvements and innovations have come in the form of better use of technology and the development of engineering software. Anthony is a self-taught programmer proficient in both VB.NET and C#, which he has used to develop bespoke analysis and design tools for the various companies he has worked for. These tools include both back end (engineering design algorithms finite element analysis, data analysis, meshing algorithms, etc.) and front end (CAD interfaces, graphing/charting, reporting and calculation display, etc) development. By working with development teams, he continues to develop his programming skills, learning best practices, data management and integration, and the use of collaboration suites.Anthony seeks to not simply accomplish something, but to learn underlying principles and theories in the process, knowledge which he uses to develop more practical and efficient ways of bringing solutions to his colleagues and industry.
