I am a Washington, DC based business executive currently residing in Raleigh, North Carolina with proven experience in business operations, business development/sales, federal contracting, construction/engineering, security/law-enforcement, project/program management, real estate investment/development and residential construction.I am extremely competitive. I play within the rules but will push hard to win. I have been fortunate to spend over 20 years with the same organization driving growth and revenue while leading operations, business development, and significant portions of HR. My real talent/value-add is my ability to positively motivate and energize a workforce. My interpersonal skills are ideal for interacting with employees, setting high but achievable goals, and motivating staff to achieve those goals. I am a hands-on manager and enjoy interacting with my staff on multiple levels. I have cultivated a motivating culture in which our employees are excited and driven to come to work and further our mission and the mission of our clients. This has happened, in part, by creating a collaborative environment, providing employees with a voice and giving them ownership over goals and directions that are consistent with corporate goals, mission, visions and values. I have the ability to disarm situations, stay cool under fire, and follow the advice that my mother gave me time and again “Kill them with kindness”.I have managed many teams in my career and all the credit for successfully completed missions is given to the team. I believe in enabling them, clearing their path, and letting them do their job. Witnessing the satisfaction of employees after a job well done, closing a deal, or winning a contract is a great motivation for me.My passions include helping people, showing kindness and consideration, motivating others, increasing energy (where appropriate), real estate, engineering/construction, health/fitness, gaming, wrestling, exploring the outdoors.In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, and volunteering as an assistant Scout leader and wrestling coach.
