ABOUT ANTHONY MENDES

With over 12 years of experience in academic support, counseling, and coaching, I am passionate about helping students achieve their academic, personal, and professional goals. My mission is to provide holistic support and guidance to student-athletes, especially those from underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds. As an academic coach for the Office of Student-Athlete Development at Arizona State University, I work football and collaborate with coaches, faculty, and staff to foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and inclusion.In my current role, I monitor the academic progress and eligibility of student-athletes, develop individualized academic plans and strategies, coordinate tutoring and mentoring services, and facilitate workshops and seminars on various topics such as time management, study skills, and career development. I also leverage my skills in social networking, higher education, and tutoring to connect student-athletes with relevant resources and opportunities on and off campus. Additionally, I am a graduate of the N4A Professional Development Institute, Leader/Manager Track, Class of 2022, where I gained valuable insights and skills on leadership and management in the field of academic support for student-athletes.
