Teaching in-person and hybrid upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses in Business Law, Ethics in Business, and Applied Ethics. My teaching style is case study and participant-centered learning. My legal experience and research have improved the ways I teach and train students by allowing me to deliver insight beyond the textbook, including perspectives and modern practices, and current events in business, government, and public policy. My goal is to contribute to student competencies of knowledge, skills, and abilities, including analytical and critical thinking.Before and during my time at FAU, I participated in various levels of scholarship, including authoring a chapter in McGraw-Hill’s Dynamic Business Law customized textbook. I am currently working on an article that examines the constitutional principles of federalism, due process under the Fourteenth Amendment, and the doctrine of stare decisis, through the U.S. Supreme Court decision of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. It critically reviews the Court’s opinion, its reasoning, standards of review, and use of precedent, to evaluate the legal soundness of the decision. Two projects under consideration involve issues in administrative law that impact businesses:(1) the known and expected implications from the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo, overruling the Chevron deference, and holding that the Administrative Procedure Act requires courts to exercise independent judgment in deciding whether an agency has acted within its statutory authority; and (2) the FTC\'s final rule that effectively banned non-compete agreements despite states historically regulating in this area.
