Currently in a Creative Partnership Programme with AI creative tools and models company Freepik testing Filmmaking tools. Project managed the move of the BBC Focus on Africa programme from London to Nairobi, training the directors, overseeing new creative elements of the broadcast, the installation of technical equipment and soft/hard launch of the programme. A director on the BBC’s virtual production project. Part of a small project team testing and piloting BBC programming on Sony, Samsung & White Light LED volumes. Directed the breaking news announcement of the death of Pope Francis, bringing together all BBC output for a special news broadcast. Organised and directed the BBC News Channel Oscars 2024 special review programme. Directed two complex broadcasts of event programming for the media industry at the BBC Radio Theatre for the ‘BBC News Awards’ and the ‘Inclusion Means Business’ festival. Trainer and pilot director for the roll out of Mosart Core3. This included training staff on its use and best practice as well as piloting new programmes in the newly refurbished Studio E at New Broadcasting House. Navigated vast range of project complexity levels spanning directorship over 4 programme types – live, pre-recorded, virtual production and outside broadcasting - enabling broadcast to 4 television channels broadcasting to a weekly viewership of 100m+. Cemented directorial authority by deploying best practices, eventually directing a live special broadcast on the historic announcement of the death of HM Queen Elizabeth II on the BBC World News Focus on Africa programme for partner stations. It was one of only two English language television programmes that the BBC broadcast at the time of the Queens death on the 8th of September 2022. Adapted to tech automations on media production chain and exhibited deft control over Viz Mosart software. Inducted into BBC’s Mosart Lead Users group in February 2018, comprising 25 total members.
