About Anthony Chung

I am a dedicated and resilient pre-medical student from the University of Florida, who is currently taking a gap-year before medical school. I have a passion for culture, community, and service as demonstrated through my extensive leadership roles throughout my undergraduate career. Currently, I work as a Research Coordinator with the RECOVER Pediatric Study at New York University in the Dept. of Child & Adolescent Psychology where we work to investigate the effects of Long COVID on pediatric patients and their families. Previously, I have volunteered with Project Makeover as the Head Coordinator for Special Events where we worked to improve the learning environments for children within the Gainesville community, completed research through the Atkinson Lab in the Diabetes Institute of UF, worked as a Medical Scribe in the Emergency Department for Shands Hospital, served the community through my role as an official student ambassador to the University of Florida, and oversaw the internal operations for my multicultural fraternity Sigma Lambda Beta. In my free time I love anything active and trying new experiences! I am a huge foodie who has a goal to try as many places in NYC while I have time.    Under the guidance of Dr. Cheryl Stein, assist in the pediatric Researching COVID to Enhance Recovery (RECOVER) project. Support clinical research activities for the NYU Langone pediatric enrollment site including biospecimen collection, administer neurocognitive assessments, and facilitate clinical tests. Recruit, screen, consent and enroll potential participants into the study. Coordinate scheduling and tracking of participant visits. Collect, process, store, and ship biospecimens. Oversee and coordinate the order of necessary lab supplies. Work with team to maintain accurate databases and public information.
