About Anthony Hesselius
My career has been focused on cultivating relationships across the industries I love, the media that cover them, and the people they serve. I manage diverse teams, stellar events and clever campaigns informed by years spent learning from others. My agile leadership has built a portfolio of work centered around creative problem solving and earned me a reputation for humility, loyalty, and excellence. My international expertise began supporting development projects in sub-Saharan Africa, led me to the United Nations, Australia, and eventually to Washington DC where, for nearly 20 years, I led agency support of domestic and foreign clients spanning consumer events and exhibitions, global hospitality brands, municipal and federal government agencies, food and agriculture industries, tourism organizations, health care, associations, established and growing lifestyle products, fashion and the arts, non-profits, and more. I have a keen understanding of stakeholder engagement, business development, team management, project oversight, crisis communications, event management, media relations, corporate communications (internal + external), and digital strategy. But I am at my best when challenged to to coordinate all of the moving parts of live convenings. Today, I use everything I have learned to advance the mission of the Aspen Institute via its world renowned public programs, including the Aspen Ideas Festival.
