As an operations leader at the Championships, I ensure the seamless setup, operation, and breakdown of the event site, focusing on meticulous planning, budget management, and sustainability. As the primary budget holder, I oversee financials across various categories such as equipment purchases, services, vehicle leases, and cleaning materials, ensuring we stay within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.I work closely with contractors to construct temporary structures, ensuring all utilities (water, power, etc.) meet Health and Safety Executive (HSE) standards. I manage the logistics for infrastructure installation and de-rigging, including kitchen equipment, refrigeration units, and waste compactors, ensuring timely setup and efficient de-rigging.My role also involves overseeing the loading bay, managing logistics, optimizing traffic flow, and ensuring timely deliveries and pickups. I regularly communicate with clients to meet brand-specific requirements and foster positive relationships.Sustainability is a key priority. I lead initiatives to reduce single-use plastics, sourcing eco-friendly products like FSC-certified cartons. Since 2017, I’ve eliminated millions of single-use plastics, replacing them with reusable or sustainable alternatives, greatly improving the Championships’ sustainability.I am committed to continuous improvement, streamlining operations, and driving innovation. This has led to smarter, more efficient processes and a reduced environmental impact, positioning the Championships as a leader in sustainable event management.
