About Anthony B. James

Mr. James has over 26 years of structural engineering experience and possesses an extensive knowledge of low- and mid-rise metal building construction. Anthony’s professional experience encompasses all aspects of the construction process, from design through construction administration, for a wide variety of building applications, including commercial, industrial, storage, manufacturing, transportation, municipal, power distribution, petrochemical, and oil and gas exploration. Throughout his career, he has obtained valuable knowledge of steel fabrication, steel erection, and pre-engineered and modular construction. He has implemented quality processes and managed engineering departments through manufacturing and fabrication audits for AISC, IAS, and ISO compliance and certification. Mr. James has completed numerous building designs consisting of structural steel, cold-formed steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. He has been involved in the design and analysis of new construction and existing structures for rain loads, flood loads, wind loads in hurricane-prone regions, seismic activity, blast loads, vibrations, and moving loads. He has conducted forensic engineering investigations for determining the cause and extent of damage to commercial and residential buildings including the evaluation of construction defect claims and failures of roofing, building envelope, foundation, and structural systems, as well as compliance with building codes and standards. Mr. James received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana Tech University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina and Tennessee. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Structural Engineering Institute (SEI), and the APA – The Engineered Wood Association. He is certified with the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES), and he is an Appointed Qualified Inspector (AQI) for the Texas Department of Insurance windstorm inspections.
