The U.S. Department of the Interior\'s (DOI) Office of Restoration and Damage Assessment (ORDA), oversees the Natural Resource Damage Assessment and Restoration (NRDAR) responsibilities for the Secretary of the Interior by managing the confluence of the technical, ecological, biological, legal, and economic disciplines. The ORDA coordinates with six DOI bureaus and four other DOI offices to accomplish the program\'s mission, while protecting nearly the full span of natural and cultural resources for which the Secretary of the Interior has trust responsibility and authority.My position is with the Operations Unit which provides mission support to the DOI bureaus, who represent the Secretary, for Initiate, Pre-Assessment, Damage Assessment, and Restoration Planning activities. Primary duties consist of support roles in: the internal DOI NRDAR proposal/funding process; liaison to bureau coordinators/practitioners; documentation/information management; Departmental training and outreach; updating relevant Departmental policy; and, planning strategic growth in the organization. I also coordinate/manage a work group of 6 bureaus and 2 offices tasked with planning national-scale oil/hazmat spill preparedness for DOI resources, which includes: training and certification, incident contingency planning, and establishing enhanced coordination at the local/regional response team levels.Learn more here:
