My name is Anthony Vega, a student at the University of Central Florida. I am majoring in Business Management and minoring Hospitality Management while pursuing a Certificate in Human Resources. I have been inspired by the outstanding leadership and mentoring of the professors, managers, and industry professionals to grow, lead, and serve in the Hospitality and Tourism industry.I have 2 years of experience in customer service and team cooperation, which means that I am determined to improve relations with employees and create positive working environments. I have been lucky to serve as a team leader in academic projects, at work, and in registered student organizations, which have enabled me to gain stronger communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.My professional and campus involvement has played a major role in my development:Teaching AssistantIt was my responsibility as a teaching assistant to assist the professor in explaining course material, assisting students with their assignments, and ensuring the smooth running of the computer lab. I conducted many conversations, asked individual questions, and assisted students with accommodations. My position also hones my communication skills and helps me to be patient and supportive as a mentor.Teller InternAs a teller intern, I served my customers and worked on their banking transactions paying attention to accuracy, professionalism, and establishing trust. The experience allowed me to enhance my customer-service skills and making me more confident when dealing with a diverse set of problemsVice President of Chapter OperationsAs a leader within the Delta Sigma Pi, especially the Vice President of Chapter Operations, I had to lead the internal operations and coordinate the efforts of 140 chapter members. I collaborated with the leadership team in order to maintain everything in order, structured, and efficient. This role enhanced my leadership and teamwork as well as project-management skills.President of The Heralds Public SpeakingBeing the President of a Public Speaking Club, I organized workshops to assist students in gaining confidence and enhancing communication skills. I arranged meetings, organized speaking exercises, and trained members to be better speakers. This has helped to develop my own coaching and speaking skills and taught me how to inspire and influence other people.
