I am a trial lawyer, litigator and award-winning regulatory attorney with over 25 years of experience counseling the financial services and cryptocurrency industries, and am the former General Counsel of OKX, one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world.For 17 years, I served as in-house litigation counsel for Morgan Stanley and Charles Schwab, trying over 40 FINRA arbitrations to award and achieving a claimant recovery rate in those cases of less than 4%. I also supervised outside counsel handling all types of commercial litigation, including class actions, client arbitrations, breach of contract actions, employment matters and pre-lawsuit disputes. While at Schwab, in addition to my litigation duties, I managed and resolved numerous regulatory enforcement matters with great success. In 2020, I worked on the DOJ’s antitrust investigation into Schwab’s acquisition of TD Ameritrade, leading an interdepartmental team of over 50 employees. I was the recipient the Schwab’s Challenger Award (August 2020) and CEO Award (February 2021) for my work on the successful resolution of the DOJ’s investigation.Starting in April 2022, I served as General Counsel and Global Head of Government Relations and Legislative Affairs for one of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges in the world, building a global legal department from 2 attorneys to over 35 attorneys and 25 legal professionals globally in less than three years.
