ABOUT ANTHONY SKILLICORN
Anthony Skillicorn has held various positions in schools and education since 1972. His teaching experience includes teaching in South Africa, England where he taught in Public, Grammar, Comprehensive and International Schools,and in Singapore. He currently advises and consults out of Berlin where he was previously with the Nobel Education Network. He consulted Dulwich College, Shanghai, TASIS, The American School of The Hague and The Inter-Community School in Zurich on their Service programmes.From 1987 to 2013 Anthony Skillicorn held various posts of responsibility at The United World College of South East Asia and was an integral part of the growth of that prestigious international school. At UWCSEA he taught the IB Diploma and IGCSE programmes, but he is known as the person who transformed their global service programme. That transformation to the programme empowered students and facilitated their selection, founding and managing of community engagement projects. This established UWCSEA as a world leader in this field. It is also the theme of Skillicorn\'s book Service is a Journey.Anthony Skillicorn\'s interest in Global Citizenship and Social Justice led him to found the Initiative for Peace project and to his publishing a number of articles in educational journals on the topic of youth initiated peace projects.
