About Anthony D. Parker-Gills
Anthony Parker-Gills is the Director of THRIVE at Bowdoin College. In his time in academia, Anthony has successfully matriculated a plethora of first-generation, low-socioeconomic and underrepresented college students into the workforce and graduate education. Anthony has over eight years of professional experience in the academy, his roles in higher education has involved teaching, counseling, research, mentoring, recruitment and program management. His research and professional interest include evaluating the academic and social experiences of minoritized students at Predominately White Institutions, P-20 pipeline programs, student retention, first-generation college students, graduate education, TRIO programs, and Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Anthony has presented his research and best practices initiatives at conferences across the country, he also holds additional educational certificates from Columbia University and the University of Michigan.
