I\'ve spent the last decade making systems work at the scale and reliability level where failure isn\'t really an option — payment infrastructure, open banking, legal-tech ERP, factory automation. Right now I\'m in the middle of migrating 4+ billion records from legacy Elasticsearch to AWS OpenSearch at OpenText. Before that I was at Toyota, writing the software that stops autonomous vehicles from colliding with each other on a live factory floor. Different domains, same underlying challenge: distributed systems that have to be right. I\'m most at home in the space between architecture and implementation — where someone has to make the hard calls and then actually build the thing.
