As the first Conservative Ward Councillor for Holme Valley North in 15 years I represent local residents and ensure their voices are heard in every level of Kirklees Council. I work to deliver efficient services, promote accountability and support the long term prosperity and safety of our communities.Key responsibilities:• Represent constituents by addressing local concerns, supporting families and businesses and ensuring public services deliver real value for money• Advocate for stronger winter maintenance and infrastructure resilience after severe weather by pushing for more grit bins, timely bin collections and better snow clearance• Champion road safety and sensible transport policy by supporting appropriate 20 mph zones in villages and town centres while protecting traffic flow on key routes• Promote responsible local spending and uphold Conservative principles of efficiency transparency and accountability across all council departments• Work with residents parish councils and community groups to improve highways tackle fly tipping and enhance local amenities• Hold the Council’s administration to account through Full Council meetings committees and scrutiny panels to ensure residents’ interests are represented• Encourage investment and regeneration that bring sustainable economic growth to Kirklees while protecting community character• Communicate regularly with residents through newsletters social media and community events to keep people informed and engaged• Support casework on housing planning waste management and community safety to help residents find practical solutions• Stand up for rural and semi rural areas that risk being overlooked and ensure fair access to services across the whole boroughI am committed to championing Conservative values locally through practical governance efficient use of resources and community driven decision making while helping Kirklees become a better safer and more prosperous place for everyone.
