Perform pipe stress calculations and analysis to verify that piping and routing are in compliance with applicable codes. Calculations address loads resulting from gravity, temperature, pressure, wind, and seismic activity. Keep piping loads on equipment (compressors, vessels, pumps, vaporizers, etc) within allowable limits. Design and specify pipe supports. Specify flexible elements such as metallic hoses and expansion joints. Work closely with manufacturers to design custom expansion joints (including universal tied, pressure balanced, and hinged). Create mechanical construction specs and packages. Provide engineering technical support for contractors. Line list and bill of materials development, valve specification, and relief valve sizing. Perform CFD analysis for optimization of flow.
