I am a hydrographer and nautical cartographer at heart. As a physical scientist at NOAA’s Office of Coast Survey at the Atlantic Hydrographic Branch, I help support safety of navigation by keeping America’s nautical charts up to date by evaluating and assessing the quality of bathymetric data sources, This protects lives at sea, strengthens our economy, and protects the fragile marine environment. IHO S-102 Product Lead; Coast Survey representative to IHO Crowdsourced Bathymetry Working Group; Interests include integrating open-source Python GIS and data science/analytics applications to the hydrographic community.
